Maya Elias, PhD, MA, RN is a tenure-track Assistant Professor and the Rebecca & Eli Almo Endowed Faculty Fellow within the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Informatics at the University of Washington. As a clinician-scientist, her program of research focuses on the intersection of geriatrics and critical illness outcomes. She is dedicated to improving outcomes for older adults, particularly those recovering from critical illness throughout care transitions. With an interdisciplinary background in nursing, geriatrics/gerontology, and neuroscience, Dr. Elias’ research focuses on developing and testing innovative interventions to prevent and mitigate post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) and geriatric syndromes, including delirium and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).
